The Adventure Playground

Officially known as 'The J.R. Holloway Memorial Adventure Playground' and named after the school's 1969 to 1978 principal - Mr Holloway.

This terraced and forested area that runs the full length of our grounds is a feature. Nowadays, we refer to this space as 'The Adventure'. It provides children with plenty of opportunities to connect with nature, be imaginative, create huts, climb trees, run, jump, relax, chat and make discoveries. Other aspects to this space are the outdoor classroom deck, slides - two of which are tube slides with rope climbs between them, an orchard and a tree house. Tamariki play creatively in 'The Adventure' and are able to take a few low-key risks within its natural and self-contained environment.
